Troop 24 Orlando, Florida

Do a good turn daily.
Troop 24 participates in the annual Scouting For Food Project. On a Saturday morning in November, scouts will be dropping off bags at local residents to be filled with canned goods. The bags will be picked up on the following  Saturday morning by scouts, and then delivered to a Second Harvest Food Bank processing center for redistribution to the area needy.

Troop 24 participates regularly at Second Harvest Food Bank sorting food for distribution to local nonprofit organizations.

When: Second Saturday of every other month, 9AM - 12 PM

Call Mr. Fontaine for details.

Troop 24 is committed to service to the greater Orlando community. Other past service projects include cleaning veteran's grave sites at the Greenwood Cemetery just in time for Memorial Day.

Fundraising:
Troop 24 maintains Individual Scout Accounts to be used for approved B.S.A. Summer Camps.
This money is obtained by the scout’s participation in fundraisers designated by the committee. Fundraisers benefit the troop by paying for troop supplies, and transportation costs. The Committee may grant specific “camperships” (scholarships) from the general Troop account for up to 50% of the total cost of an event upon written recommendation by the Scoutmaster.

A special thank you goes to Northrop Grumman for their recent financial donation recognizing the volunteer dedication of their employee and Troop 24 Assistant Scoutmaster, Ellen Daniels.

Additional funds for the troop come from community partners such as the Yowell Class of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
